New for 2012, Two Beginner Taichi Group Classes, Taught by Master YiJiao Hong Did you know that practicing Taichi maintains spine health and increases bone density? It is beneficial to the cardio-vascular, respiratory, and nervous systems, and also improves circulation of Chi. Yijiao Hong's long-term Taichi students report that practicing Taichi helps alleviate hypertension, asthma, knee pain, and stress, while also improving mental strength and overall happiness.Yang Style Taichi 24 Forms: Thursday 9:30AM - 10:30AM, at the Mercer Island Community Center Gym. Classes start Jan 12, 2012. Please call 206-275-7609 to register. Chen Style Taichi Silk Reeling (Old Frame): Tuesday 7:05PM - 8:05PM, at CWTA school headquarters in Chinatown. Classes start October 9, 2012. What to expect: Sifu Hong will give in-depth, step-by-step instruction on authentic Yang Taichi form movements and Qigong warm-ups from Traditional Chinese Medicine, using the latest in physical learning science. Sifu Hong will also explain how Taichi originated from ancient Chinese philosophy and Chinese medicine. This class will emphasize the skills of self-centering, body relaxation, and slow breathing while practicing form movements. You can expect increased flexibility, leg strength, coordination, and balance, as well as learning to be relaxed in an energetic way. Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei's Chen Taichi qigong, silk-reeling, push hands, and Old Frame 2 seminar was a huge success!! Grandmaster Chen received much applause for each section. Catherine Kehl, who used to worked at Microsoft and flew in from Cleveland to attend this seminar said, "This is the best seminar of my life" Grandmaster Chen has been offering Chen Taichi seminars at Chinese Wushu & Taichi Academy LLC since 1998.
